Product Consultant (Websphere / Weblogic)

London based with European and US travel required.

As an experienced and highly motivated Technical Consultant, you will be part of an expanding system integration firm, working as part of a mixed discipline team of client representatives, developers and architects.

You will be a Websphere or Weblogic expert responsible for providing technical consultancy / architecture to clients. The ideal candidate would be expected to grow the account through their technical expertise and to lead more junior members onto the project.

Portal Technology provides business and technology consulting services, systems integration, technical architecture and bespoke development specifically around enterprise portals, content management and personalisation.

Description:

Provide pre-sales consultancy;
Work with the client to gather requirements (prepare and facilitate workshops);
Design and develop multi-tier applications;
Manage junior developers.

Requirements:

Excellent development and design skills (2+ years) in Weblogic or Websphere;
Computer Science / Software Engineering (or other appropriate) Graduate (2:1 minimum);
Excellent interpersonal skills. As comfortable in front of the client as a computer;
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage: SQL, JSP, Java Beans, Servlets, EJB, distributed computing, HTML, UNIX, J2EE, Websphere, Weblogic, Documentum, Plumtree, Hummingbird (PC Docs);
Technical consultancy experience (18+ months) with a recognised organisation, preferably one of the big 5;
The ability to work on challenging assignments on your own without direct supervision;
Right of abode and to work in the United Kingdom, without restriction.
