Project Manager
London based with European and US travel required.
As an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager working within our eCommerce practice you will be responsible for delivering large scale complex sites and applications to our growing client base.
Portaltech is a technology consultancy that focuses on the design, implementation and integration of eCommerce, Content Management and Portal solutions. With operations in the UK, Spain, United States and India we have delivered in excess of 200 successful Internet and Intranet projects for some of the world's most popular brands.
Experience:
- Project management of 6+ years;
- Formal project management training - PRINCE2 or ITIL equivalent;
- Full project lifecycle experience within a 24/7 eCommerce, multi-site environment;
- Has managed at least two implementations with budget exceeding £500,000.00;
- Experience of third party supplier/vendor management, including contract negotiation and tendering processes;
- Detailed understanding of business applications and ecommerce software, together with modern development, testing and productivity software tools;
- Experience of retail / telecoms / travel / logistics is desirable.

Project Delivery:
- Manage delivery teams and monitor progress both from a commercial and technical perspective, identifying potential problems early, giving the necessary management support to put them back on track;
- Maintain regular contact with clients, keep them informed of progress, to ensure continued satisfaction particularly on a commercial front;
- Have ability to identify project risks from inception to financial completion and ensure arrangements are put in place to manage and minimise these;
- Through an in-depth understanding of contractual, commercial and legal processes, ensure Portaltech's position is protected;
- Manage, reduce and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.

Business Development:
- Assist targeting opportunities through regular contact with current and future clients;
- Promotes the Portaltech brand image to both current and future customers;
- Maintain regular contract with current, and where appropriate possible future clients, consistent with bringing increased value to Portaltech and maximising the life cycle of key client relation.

Finance:
- Have understanding of financial target setting and reporting structures to monitor performance against budget so identifying and rectifying problems early;
- Can quantify and demonstrate where and how an activity has 'added value'.

People Management:
- Gives clear direction, and obtains buy in to the key business objectives, ensuring delivery of these through the on-going motivating, supporting and monitoring of their team;
- Continually develop and improve the standard of project team;
- Develop a cohesive, performance driven, flexible, supportive, rewarding, challenging and celebratory team;
- Promote knowledge sharing and learning and develop a team who are able to 'think outside the box';
- Assist in resource management and team development.
